EOBI asked to complete suspended projects in I-8 Markaz to facilitate growth of business activities October 06, 2016
Meeting at ICCI

Khalid Iqbal Malik, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called upon the Employees Old Age Benefit Institute to complete its suspended projects in I-8 Markaz, Islamabad as their suspension was a major hurdle for growth of business activities in this important business centre. He said that I-8 Markaz was one of the important business centres in the federal capital and CDA should pay better attention to its development. He said this while addressing the delegation of Traders Welfare Association, I-8 Markaz, Islamabad that visited ICCI led by its President Raja Fiaz Gul.

Khalid Iqbal Malik said that most of the issues of business community were related to CDA and stressed that Sheikh Anser Aziz should set up a task force comprising representatives of CDA and ICCI for urgent redress of key issues. He said business community was playing important role in the economic development of this region and all trade related departments including CDA, IESCO, FBR, SNGPL and others should focus on addressing their issues on priority.

He said Sheikh Anser Aziz was an experienced businessman and was well aware of the issues of trade and industry. He hoped that Chairman CDA would focus on better development of markets and industrial areas to give boost to business and investment activities in the region. He assured that ICCI would fully cooperate with TWA, I-8 Markaz in resolving its major issues.

Speaking at the occasion, Raja Fiaz Gul President and Zahid Qureshi Secretary General, TWA, I-8 Markaz highlighted the key issues of their market. They said EOBI cases were in the NAB due to which its projects were suspended in I-8 Markaz. Due to this situation investment of many investors was stuck up and market business was badly suffering. They said some international brands were present in I-8 Markaz, but lack of development of this market was discouraging new investment in this area.

They said roads and footpaths were broken and tube wells were not properly working in the market. They said lack of street lights, water filtration & water treatment plants and absence of toilets needed urgent attention of CDA to bring this market at par with other developed business areas. He said ICCI should cooperate in resolving these issues.

Khalid Javed Chairman Founder Group, Khalid Malik Senior Vice President, Tahir Ayub Vice President ICCI, for President Ejaz Abbasi, former SVP Khalid Chaudhry and others also spoke at the occasion and called upon CDA to focus on better development of I-8 Markaz for smooth growth of business activities.
