Sheikh Anser Aziz, Mayor IMC and Chairman CDA has announced to form two joint committees (one from CDA and one from IMC) to look into and resolve the issues of local traders. He nominated Zeeshan Ali Naqvi Deputy Mayor and Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan from CDA and Ch. He said this while addressing a large delegation of market representatives that called on him led by Khalid Iqbal Malik, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to apprise him of the key issues of traders.

Sheikh Anser Aziz said that business community was playing important role in the development of the city and CDA & IMC wanted to facilitate them in growth of business activities. He said joint committees would look into the issues of traders and submit recommendations for their resolution. He said placing sanitation staff in markets at the disposal of market union was under consideration so that unions could monitor their performance. He said if any market union wanted to undertake some development work in market on self-finance basis including construction of public baths, installation of filtration plant etc., CDA was ready to allow the same. He hoped that joint committees would be effective in resolving the long standing issues of business community.

In his welcome address, Khalid Iqbal Malik, President ICCI said that Sheikh Anser Aziz was an elected leader and business community has pinned lot of hopes on him. He said almost 95 percent issues of business community were related to CDA and markets were facing many common issues which needed urgent attention of CDA. He assured that ICCI and market unions will fully cooperate with CDA and IMC in resolving issues of business community.
