ICCI organizes national youth business plans competition February 03, 2010
Meeting at ICCI
 
Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs organized a “National Youth Business Plans Competition” to encourage the youth to come up with innovative business ideas in the field of their interest.

Students of Pakistan’s leading universities of Karachi, Rahim Yar Khan, Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Taxila, Rawalpindi and Islamabad participated in the competition and presented their business plans on on different areas including “Intra City Bus Services, Feed Lot Farming for Beef Production, Wealth Management, Production of Biofertilizer by Managing Biodegradable Waste using Effective Microorganism, Home Dairy, Micro level Mushroom Farming, Devine Living Real Estate and Business of Online Shopping in Pakistan etc. The winners of the competition will be awarded with a cash award of Rs.50,000/- each.

In his message to the participants, Zahid Maqbool, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that youth is the future of Pakistan and government should support all efforts for youth development.

He said our youngsters are second to none in terms of talent and ability and they can bring an economic revolution in Pakistan if government patronize them with right policies, conducive environment and good opportunities.

He said government should allocate more budget to education for equipping our youngsters with modern education so that they could spearhead national building efforts.

Zahid Maqbool said ICCI has always been encouraging younger generation to become entrepreneurs and will continue to provide mentorship to students who are willing to enter into a business.

He said ICCI will start a Business Incubation Center for young entrepreneurs that will help prospective young entrepreneurs to launch new business ventures.

He also thanked Ministry of Youth Affairs for taking such positive initiatives that will go a long way in promoting entrepreneurship culture in the in the country.
