Tunis and Pakistan enjoy old traditional and religious relations-Tunisia Ambassador/Pakistan and Tunis should enhance their trade volume-Mahfooz Elahi October 09, 2010

H.E. Mr. Mourad Bourehla, Ambassador of Tunis visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to congratulate  newly elected President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr.Mahfooz Elahi. Mr.Tauseef Zaman and Syed Adil Anis Vice Presidents, Mr.Zafar Bakhtawari and Mian Muhammad Ramzan were also present.

H.E. Mourad Bourehal, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia while addressing said that business community for their interest to enhance bilateral trade. He was of the view that it was need of the day to explore new avenues of trade and investment between both the countries having same religion and cultural values. He also highlighted about the great potential of trade with Tunis and urged to exchange the trade delegations by holding trade exhibitions. He said that bilateral trade agreements between Pakistan and Tunis was in process to sing to promote trade ties between both the countries.

He said that Pakistan and Tunis was enjoying very old traditional and religious relations and urged Chambers of Commerce and Industries of both the countries could play their active role to motivate the business community and investors to invest in each other country. He agreed for MOU between Tunis Chamber & Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, so that the trade between both the countries could be enhanced. He also agreed to invest in Pakistan in its energy sector to bring the country of out its old traditional and religious relations energy crises.

Mr.Mahfooz Elahi President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in his welcome address stressed the need to promote trade and investment between Pakistan and Tunis. He said that being Islamic countries both enjoy very cordial and friendly relationship, but the trade volume between both the countries is very low and it is the need of hour to enhance it, which in favor for both the countries. He said Pakistan and Tunis should come forward  for signing MOU and by holding trade exhibitions to introduce their products, so that trade relations between Pakistan & Tunis could be further strengthened.

He said that our country can export textile products, surgical instruments, sports leather and furniture. He demanded that both the countries should facilitate their business community in their visas, so that they could get easy excess in each other markets.
